GAMES magazine: This magazine is great, and I have subscribed to it both before and after it went bankrupt. (It was affilitiated with another magazine that went bust, dragging it under) GAMES has crosswords of all difficulties, logic puzzles, and other brain teasers. Sometimes it is a little gaudy and over advertised, but is very good consistently. Martin Gardners SCI AMERICAN: Martin Garner wrote for Scientific American in "Mathematical Recreations" until around 1982. He has compiled these works into volumes, which are chock full of interesting and curious mathematical puzzles and artifacts. I believe there are 14 such volumes with 1 more to be published in the future. Library: Look under the topics "puzzles", "mathematical recreations", and "philosophical recreations". There are many excellent puzzle books, and sometimes real old books contain goodies that may not be found elsewhere. There is a book of situation puzzles entitled "Lateral thinking puzzles" Video Games: There are many good puzzle video games, I have only played a few. GAMES reviews these regularly, especially in their yearly Dec issue which lists all top games. The best puzzle game I have ever played is "Chips Challenge" on the Lynx. Ask around in "rec.games.video" for others for your particular system/computer. I would be interested in seeing reviews of puzzle books around here, and I'll compile a list if anyone posts such information. Unfortunately, there is not enough demand to justify the investment, so Puzzle World is being scaled down to an annual. I don't yet know when the first one will be out, but all current subscribers will get one. Nob at least used to have a puzzle newsletter called PuzzleTopia, but I think Puzzle World absorbed it. Maybe it'll come back to life. There is also an annual International Puzzle Party. The last one was in Tokyo, and the previous year it was in Los Angeles. Puzzle manufacturers from around the world, and wall to wall puzzles. OMNI magazine has a GAMES and PUZZLES column. Jerry Slocum has written at least one recent book on Wooden Puzzles and How to Build Them. I'll post more details later as I find them.
